Attractions
- The mid-Hudson Valley and Catskills are teeming with art museums and galleries, cultural centers, theaters and performance spaces, farms and farm markets, historic sites, live music, casinos and comedy venues. See DutchessTourism.org for a wealth of great spots to visit. The Hudson Valley is also a flourishing center for filmmaking and video production.
- Outdoor activities include biking, riding, golf, hiking, parks and gardens. Highlights include the Dutchess Rail Trail and the popular Walkway over the Hudson (Walkway.org).
- The Bardavon 1869 Opera House (Bardavon.org) is a highlight of the region. The 944-seat historic venue in Poughkeepsie is the oldest continuously operating theater in New York State and one of the oldest in the country. The Bardavon offers affordable, world-class live music, dance and theater performances, Live in HD broadcasts, classic films and arts education programs.

Higher Education
- Poughkeepsie is a center for educational growth and home to Vassar College (Vassar.edu), Marist College (Marist.edu) and Dutchess Community College (SUNYDutchess.edu). Nearby institutions of higher learning include the U.S. Military Academy at West Point (westpoint.edu), the State University of New York at New Paltz (newpaltz.edu), Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson (Bard.edu), and the world-famous Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park (CIAChef.edu).

- Shop local boutiques, gift shops, antique stores, auction centers, bookstores, specialty shops and shopping malls. Enjoy farm-fresh foods and much more from food and produce centers and markets such as Adams Fairacre Farms (AdamsFarms.com).
- The Arlington Business District (ArlingtonHasIt.org), with its shops, restaurants and downtown feel, is a short walk from Van Wagner Place.

Transportation
- The City and Town of Poughkeepsie are served by Dutchess County public bus routes, and your new home is fewer than three miles from the Poughkeepsie Train Station with Metropolitan Transportation Authority service to New York City and Amtrak service throughout the Northeast with connections to destinations nationwide. Parking is available to our tenants adjacent to the train station.
